One of the first things you lose when a storm rages through the city is a clear view of your environment. Not a situation you would expect to be useful for something like abstract fine art. Although this painting proves otherwise.
But it happend to me more than once. I made several oil paintings about bad weather. The weather is always unpredictable and mother nature has an urge for destroying her beauty from time to time. A sudden loss of colors and the appearance of dark clouded skies are the first indications for me to be alert.
Not only to be careful where you are going, but especially keep an eye on structures and shapes which stay visible. How hard that even can be in bad weather situations. Bad weather is always an extra challenge for me to paint the moods of mother nature on canvas.
